How To Remove Stubborn Pet Hair From Your Carpet

Pets and carpets do not mix! But they actually can but it entails a lot of hard work being the pet owner. I grew fond of pets and carpets and I found a way to clean those pet hairs out of my lovely carpets quick and easy.

Pet hair from cats and dogs can be stuck in the carpet and it is difficult to get rid of even by just vacuum-cleaning. See below to make it easier to remove stubborn pet hair from carpets. Once most of the pet hair has been removed, vacuum the carpet thoroughly to get the rest. For pet hair that’s left on wood floors, you can use the best vacuum for wood floors too.

Tools I use to remove stubborn hair from the carpet before vacuuming

Soft Bristle Brush with Long Handle

Use a soft bristle brush with long handle and rake the hair off the carpet. This solution works for me well. Before vacuuming, I do this a lot. I bought the long handle brush with soft bristles from Home Depot.

Before I rake off hair from the carpet, I make sure I have a trash bag along with me. The downside to using this technique is that you have to manually remove the hair from the brush bristles and put it straight to the trash bag.

Packing tape

This is a great solution to small fibers, human, and even pet hair. All you need to do is use the sticky part of the packing tape to lift the hair fibers from the carpet. The downside of this is that you will have to go down on your knees. I personally find it backbreaking but it helps me sweat too. So it’s just like exercising for about 15 minutes (haha).

Squeegee

This is simply a typical window squeegee which I mounted on a mop handle. It has the spongee on one side and the other side has that firm and rigorous rubberized squeegee. It’s quite cool coz all you have to is to rake it off and the hair fibers get attached to the rubber squeegee.
